Quality Time
Last November, I went out with a food truck that serves those in need. As we were handing out sandwiches and groceries, I had some extra time to talk with a little girl who was talking with my daughter.
She was explaining how her family is broken. She just has her grandma and aunts around. Her parents had to leave her for work. She kept saying how everyone has to leave her.
She explained how she went to the park that morning and played with her dad, but he had to leave because he wanted to.
I asked her what her favorite thing to do at the park was. She said it was being with her dad.
These little moments with our kids have such a big impact on their life outlook.
I spent the rest of the day paying as much attention to my kids as possible — just being with them in the moment.
